The clergy are available to offer bereavement support and advise you on funeral plans.
We are able to conduct funerals for anyone who lived in our parishes or had a strong connection with our churches. Funerals can take place in one of the churches followed by either burial in the churchyard or cremation. Alternatively we can conduct the funeral at a Crematorium or at a Cemetery. Our churchyards are also available for internment of ashes.
You are advised to contact a Funeral Director as soon as possible. They will then liaise with Rev. Mark Hutson regarding dates and location(s).
We will meet with you to design the funeral service so that it reflects the things that matter to you and your family. We will conduct the service in a sensitive and supportive way in accordance with your needs. We are happy to help you select readings and music for the funeral, and we can help you to prepare a tribute or eulogy if you wish. Memorials – To apply for the erection of a memorial in a churchyard you should contact a Stonemason who will advise you and complete a Form CR1. The application form will be sent to the to the Rural Dean (Rev. Christine Goldsmith) for approval. Once approved a copy will be sent to the Stonemason and the Group Administrator who will complete the required form PF3 which will also be sent to the Stonemason.
